The Zodiac Signs, Explained

Today, I came here to tell you a story...

I'm Kim, an astrologer who trained at the Claudia Lisboa School of Astrology. Claudia is my master, my heart-mom, and my astral mom. Because of her, I see myself as the granddaughter of dearest Mrs. Emy, Emma Costet Macheville, who was Claudia's master.

So why am I talking about Emy today? Because, as a true Aquarian, she had a new vision of what the signs were. And today, I'm going to tell you about that vision.

When she was studying, everything was very different from what it is today. There were few books available and little access to astrological knowledge. The little material available only provided the information that the signs are the ecliptic—in other words, that 360-degree circle in the sky, divided into 12 bands of 30 degrees. This was a purely mathematical explanation. And one day, through an astrological experience, she had a new vision of what the signs were.

Emy had Jupiter, the planet of great luck, in the 5th house, which is the area of life considered the house of creativity, children, and games. During a positive transit to that point in her chart, she asked her husband to play the lottery, and... bingo! They won! With that money, they bought several things for the house.

Some time later, when there was a challenging transit to that same point in the chart, they had some problems and lost everything they had bought with the lottery money. In that moment, Emy realized that astrology was not meant to be used in this way.

Once again, she calculated a moment when Jupiter would be activated by a positive transit and decided that "a great stroke of luck" would be to discover what the signs truly were. And that's how she chose the right moment to retreat to her office and intuit or receive this message about what the signs were. While Emy was there, Urânia, her daughter, kept knocking on the door, asking to come in.

At first, Emy told Urânia she couldn't come in, since she was working. But because her daughter, who was young, kept knocking and insisting, Emy finally let her in. At the same time, she told her to be quiet because Mommy was working. Meanwhile, Emy continued researching, studying, and meditating on her question: What are the signs? Until, at a certain moment, Urânia spoke:

"Mommy, can I just ask one question? Why is it that when the light hits this triangle, this colored light comes out?"

In truth, what she was seeing was light hitting a prism. And when Emy looked at that situation, she had the insight: a sign is light, a sign is energy. White light divides into several frequencies, which are the energies of the signs. We have 12 energies, 12 archetypes, distributed throughout everything we see. When this energy passes through a body, life manifests!

So, that is the vision: a sign is light, a sign is energy. This insight was a major turning point in Astrology, and Emy is one of the forerunners of this idea in Brazil!
