Flower Essences for the Water Signs

We have reached the end of this journey discussing flower essences. As we’ve seen throughout this content series, flower essences are based on energetic, not biochemical, principles, despite being physically diluted. They adopt a holistic approach—body and mind—and work with the person’s "healing" process as a whole.

Floral Therapy balances and integrates polarity energies within the individual, working with archetypal themes of soul development embodied in the subtle qualities of plants. The essences address issues of self-actualization and life destiny, as well as the challenges that are blocking the soul’s development.

We will conclude this series with the Water Element.

WATER ELEMENT ESSENCE

Pink Yarrow Essence

The essence that balances the Water Element is Pink Yarrow essence. (The original text mentions White Chestnut for the Air Element, but this paragraph is about Water, so we are focusing on Pink Yarrow as the core Water essence).

The Water Element represents the realm of deep emotion, reactions, and feelings, ranging from passions and fears to great love. The Pink Yarrow essence balances the Water Element, providing clarity and boundary definition when there is a very porous sense of self. It addresses excessive sensitivity and vulnerability by enabling the establishment of healthy boundaries between the "self" and the "other." It operates with excessive compassion and identification, allowing one to enjoy contact with others while maintaining containment and emotional responsibility.

• Positive Qualities: Loving awareness of others within a field of self-contained consciousness; appropriate emotional boundaries.

• Patterns of Imbalance: Unbalanced sympathetic forces, overly absorbent auric field, lack of emotional clarity, dysfunctional merging with others.

  
  

In addition to Pink Yarrow, each Water Element sign has a specific floral essence. The Water signs are: Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces. Here, I present the essence for each of them:

CANCER ESSENCE

Mariposa Lily Essence

An essence that works to balance the energy of the sign of Cancer is the Mariposa Lily essence from the California system.

Cancer is an energy that speaks of affectivity, nurturing, roots, family, memory, the past, protection, home, imagination, intuition, sensitivity, and empathy. The Mariposa Lily essence addresses neediness, helplessness, lack of protection, abandonment, and loneliness, bringing the power to learn to take care of ourselves, to be our own mother: "Now I nurture myself!" This essence cultivates presence, the warm affection of the mother, the maternal feminine as a positive soul force. SCORPIO ESSENCE

Sagebrush Essence

An essence that works to balance the energy of the sign of Scorpio is the Sagebrush essence from the California system.

Scorpio is an energy that speaks of great and profound transformations, intensity, deep dives, detachment, and regeneration. It is also an energy that provides the necessary coolness to deal with times of crisis. Its qualities include strategy, planning, and investigation. The Sagebrush essence helps one to cross moments of transition, bringing awareness of what is no longer essential and enabling the elimination of what no longer serves.

• Positive Qualities: Essential awareness that releases what is extraneous, receptive “emptiness” capable of transformation and change.

• Patterns of Imbalance: Over-identification with illusory parts of oneself; cluttered and chaotic attachments; need to release dysfunctional and stifling aspects within the personality or surroundings.

PISCES ESSENCE

Clematis Essence

An essence that works to balance the energy of the sign of Pisces is the Clematis essence from the Bach system.

Pisces is an energy that speaks of sensitivity, intuition, imagination, and creativity. There is a connection to the whole, the consciousness of unity and spirituality. The Piscean energy is immersed in dreams, inspiration, silence, and contemplation. The Clematis essence assists people who are sensitive to all types of external influence, fostering a lively interest in things without having one's "head in the clouds." It helps people who easily lose themselves in daydreams and fantasies to confront reality.

• Positive Qualities: Awake, focused presence; manifesting inspiration in practical life; conscious embodiment and interest in the world.

• Patterns of Imbalance: Avoidance of the present by daydreaming; other-worldly and impractical ideals; fuzzy or vague states of floating consciousness.
