Hello everyone,

Thank you so much for all the messages of concern and affection. Thanks to the Goddess, my family and loved ones are now safe. Unfortunately, this isn't the reality for most people in the state. For those who don't know, I'm a "gaúcha," born and raised in Porto Alegre. I moved to Rio when I was 18, but my entire family and many friends live in Rio Grande do Sul. It's devastating what's happening there; my mother was rescued by boat from her building in Porto Alegre. After a few days, I organized my thoughts, and I'm here to share some information and suggestions on how you can help at this time.

• 80,826 people in shelters

• 538,241 displaced

• 2,115,703 affected

• 806 injured

• 127 missing

DONATIONS The Galeão (RJ), Guarulhos (SP), and Brasília (DF) Air Force bases are accepting donations via @fab_oficial. @riogaleao is receiving donations 24 hours a day. Several locations are collecting donations. Check if there is a place in your neighborhood!

• @petz stores in the neighborhoods of Botafogo, Barra Américas, and Maracanã in RJ, as well as in other states: RS, SP, MG, GO, SC, PR, and DF.

• @correiosoficial are providing free collection and transportation for: non-perishable basic food items, personal hygiene products, and clothes. States: Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Santa Catarina, Paraná, Minas Gerais, Distrito Federal, Bahia, Pernambuco.
